Gabriel Thomas Tugendstein

Graduate Student in Philosophy

Florida State University

Hello There

I am in the PhD program in Florida State's Department of Philosophy. Broadly speaking, I am interested in how people — intentionally and unintentionally — tell the story of their lives, specifically when the moral, political, and scientific frameworks they subscribe to don't do justice to their experience. This leads me to disparate areas of study, including Moral Psychology, Philosophy of Emotions, Existentialism, Cognitive Science, and Modernist Literature.

From January to May 2024, I am visiting at the University of Michigan—Ann Arbor.

Before leaving, I was the Executive Vice President for FSU's Graduate Assistants United union and I occasionally do work for the Texas Center for Justice and Equity and Convict Leasing and Labor Project. Feel free to contact me regarding those topics.

Here is a copy of my Curriculum Vitae. For more information on my work,
